How it works

Three steps. No brokers, no binders, no pre-funded float sitting in someone else's account.

1

Verify your business

Ten minutes, self-serve. Tell us who's on the team and set a yearly limit per person. That's the whole setup.

2

Your team snaps receipts

AI reads the receipt, humans adjudicate to CRA rules. Every denial is reviewed by a person, never by a model alone.

3

Money moves automatically

Your account is debited for the claim, and your employee is paid by e-Transfer about 3–4 business days after approval.

Your team's health stays theirs.

A health benefit only works if people actually use it. They use it when they trust it, so we built the privacy wall first.

  • You see the employee's name, the amount, and a claim number. That's the whole record.
  • Never the clinic, the service, or the diagnosis. Health details stay behind your employee's own login.
  • Denials are decided by a person, never by a model. Every decision comes with a written reason.

Your dashboard: name, amount, claim number. Never the service.

Money that moves by itself.

When a claim is approved, your account is debited for exactly the claim plus our fee, itemized to the cent. Your employee gets an Interac e-Transfer. Nobody chases cheques, nobody fills out forms.

And when nobody claims? Nothing happens. No float, no monthly fee, no money parked in someone else's account.

What can your team claim?

The everyday stuff that never fits a traditional plan.

Dental Prescriptions Glasses and contacts Eye exams Physiotherapy Massage therapy Mental health Chiropractic Orthodontics Hearing aids Laser eye surgery and 100s more on the CRA list

If the CRA counts it as an eligible medical expense, it can go through your plan. We check every claim against the CRA list, so you never have to.

Questions, answered plainly

If it's not here, it'll be in your inbox: reply to any email we send.

Is this CRA-compliant?
Yes. A Health Spending Account is a Private Health Services Plan under CRA rules. Every claim is adjudicated against the CRA's eligible medical expense list, and every denial is reviewed by a human before it's final. Reimbursements are a deductible business expense for you and tax-free for your employees.
How is this different from group insurance?
Insurance charges premiums every month whether anyone uses it or not, and covers whatever the insurer's booklet says. An HSA has no premiums: you pay actual claims plus our 5% fee, and it covers everything on the CRA's eligible medical expense list. No underwriting, no renewal negotiations, no rate increases.
What can my team claim?
Anything on the CRA's eligible medical expense list: dental, prescriptions, vision, physio, massage therapy (with a prescription where required), mental health services, and more. What's not covered: things the CRA doesn't consider medical expenses, like gym memberships, most supplements and cosmetic procedures. When something isn't eligible, we tell you why, in plain language.
We're an owner-only corporation. Are we eligible?
Generally yes, if you're incorporated and pay yourself employment income. An HSA is one of the most tax-efficient ways for an incorporated owner to cover their own health costs. Sole proprietors face extra CRA restrictions. We'll flag this during verification rather than let you set up something that doesn't hold up.
What does it really cost?
5% of each claim, capped at $150, plus applicable provincial taxes, itemized line by line on every receipt. Nothing up front, nothing monthly, nothing when no one claims.
Worked example: your employee has a $500 dental claim. You're debited $500 + a $25 fee (5%) + applicable taxes. That's the whole bill.
Do my employees need to install anything?
No. ClearHSA runs in the browser on any phone or computer. Employees sign in with a link we email them, snap a photo of their receipt, and they're done. There's no app store, no password to forget, no IT setup.
What about Quebec?
Not at launch. Quebec has its own tax treatment for health plans and we'd rather do it right than do it now. It's on the roadmap. Join the list and tell us you're in Quebec so we can prioritize.
When do you launch?
Founding companies onboard first: join the list. We're onboarding in small batches so every early company gets real attention, and we'll email you the moment your spot opens.
